PST CLC Mitsui-Soko achieved sales of CZK 931 million in the past fiscal year. Profit before tax was CZK 60 million. It was a relatively difficult year. For example, the decline in sea freight volumes and the fact that the newly opened warehouse in Pohořelice near Brno was filled very slowly and gradually had a negative impact on costs. Traditionally, customs services were in great demand. At the end of the fiscal year, PST CLC Mitsui-Soko succeeded in winning a major client in Slovakia, which will have a significant impact on the success of the current fiscal year.
PST CLC Mitsui-Soko focuses on improving efficiency and productivity in individual logistics centres. This is already having a positive impact on the company’s economics.
Dashboards are already delivering the first results
“We have created a system of dashboards, thanks to which we have up-to-date online data from individual warehouses and we can easily compare and evaluate everything. Our goal is to increase the company’s performance, i.e. profitability, which the dashboards are already contributing to significantly,” says David Zimandl, CFO of PST CLC Mitsui-Soko, who is also responsible for managing the multi-user warehouses.
It further states: “Thanks to the dashboards, we have taken a number of action steps, which is reflected in our economic results, which are also increasing thanks to the dashboards. We will continue to focus on the efficiency and productivity of our logistics centres. We evaluate the data on a daily basis.”
Positive economic results are expected
Barring any unforeseen events this year, the current fiscal year can be expected to end on a very positive note. “The current situation regarding shipping is also reflected in the economy. Ships are not sailing through the Suez Canal for safety reasons, they are taking a longer route, which has increased shipping prices. Customs services are doing very well and we have gained a number of new clients,” says David Zimandl.
New service in logistics centres: co-packing
He adds that the first quarter of this year has been the best economic year for PST CLC Mitsui-Soko in several years. It is expected to continue to perform similarly well. This should be helped by the fact that the company has recently started offering a co-packing service at its logistics centres across the country, which is in demand in the market.
